Welcome! This guide takes you from a fresh account to your first tracked show in about fifteen
minutes. Nothing here requires a credit card conversation with your accountant — the whole point
of MakerEventsOS is that the math happens for you.
Sign up with your email, confirm it, and you'll land in onboarding. You'll be asked for your
business name — that becomes your workspace (and, if you add the Website module later, the
default name on your storefront).
Head to Catalog → Products. For each product you sell, add at minimum:
If a product comes in sizes or colors, add options and variants on the product page — each
variant gets its own price and stock count. If your catalog already lives in Square or Etsy,
don't retype it: see Square sync and Etsy import.
A note on stock: leave stock blank for things you don't count, set a number for things you do,
and read Inventory & made-to-order for the middle cases.
Go to Events → Add event. Give it a name, a date, the booth fee, and (if you want
mileage counted) the round-trip distance. That's enough for a P&L.
Then allocate inventory: on the event page, choose what you're bringing and how many. Two things
fall out of this automatically:
Three ways, use whichever fits:
themselves to the event happening that day. Nothing to do at the booth.
Square. Two or three taps per sale, designed for a phone in sunlight.
Open the event when the tent comes down. Revenue, minus booth fee, minus the cost of what you
sold, minus mileage — that's your actual profit for the show, not a gut feeling. Over a
season, the Reports section ranks every show the same way, so next year's calendar builds
itself: rebook the winners, drop the duds.
