Square sync

Square stays your register. MakerEventsOS sits above it and turns those transactions into
per-show answers. Connecting takes one click — no developer accounts, no API keys.

Connecting

Go to Settings → Square and click connect. You'll approve MakerEventsOS in Square's own
login screen (standard OAuth — we never see your Square password), pick your location, and
you're linked. Disconnect any time from the same page.

What syncs

• Catalog import — pull your Square items, variations, prices, and photos into

MakerEventsOS so you don't retype a catalog you already maintain

• Catalog push — changes you make here can sync back, so Square's register shows the

same products and prices

• Sales attribution — this is the magic: card sales taken on Square during a show are

attributed to that event automatically. Your Sunday-night P&L includes them without you
touching anything at the booth.

• Inventory — sales draw down the same single stock count the website and packing lists use

What we deliberately don't do

MakerEventsOS is not trying to replace Square's point of sale — Square is excellent at taking
payments. There's a built-in quick-sale screen for cash sales and vendors who don't use Square,
but if you have a Square reader, keep using it. One brain, one register.

If you don't use Square

Everything works without it: the built-in POS handles booth sales, and the website can take
payments through your own Stripe account instead. You can connect Square later and import the
catalog you've already built here.

Troubleshooting

• Sales not attributing to an event? Attribution matches the sale's timestamp to the

event's date. Check the event dates cover the show days.

• Token expired / disconnected? Square occasionally requires re-authorization —

Settings → Square will show the connection state and a reconnect button.
