One number, correct everywhere: that's the inventory promise. A sale at the booth, on your
website, or through Square all draw down the same count. Handmade inventory has more moods than
"in stock / out of stock," so products support a few availability styles — pick per product.
The website sells freely; no low-stock noise.
and low-stock alerts fire before a show would clean you out. At zero, the website shows
sold-out and starts collecting notify-me emails (see below).
as a backorder, stock goes negative, and you get an email telling you exactly how many to

form (with photo/file attachments) and you price it personally.
There's also a paused switch — the product stays visible with a label you choose ("Back
after the holidays"), can't be bought, and collects notify-me emails until you flip it back.
Sold-out and paused products never dead-end. Customers leave an email; you'll find the list on
the product's edit page (Restock waitlist) — warm leads for exactly the products people
wanted and couldn't buy. Email them when you restock; that's the whole feature, no spam
machinery attached.
Every stock change is recorded with a reason — sale, restock, event allocation returned, manual
correction — so "why is this at 3?" always has an answer.
Set a per-product cost to make and every report upgrades from revenue to profit. A simple
unit cost is all it takes — MakerEventsOS deliberately doesn't do raw-materials recipe math
(if you love that, Craftybase does it well and the two coexist happily; import your unit costs
by CSV).
